          Joseph Richard “Skip” Duszak III, 67, of Erieville, passed away Saturday, June 30, 2018 at the Syracuse V.A. Medical Center. He was born in Syracuse to Joseph Richard II and Genevieve Mead Duszak.  After graduating from West Genesee High School, Skip enlisted in the U.S. Navy in 1968 where he was trained as a ship fitter and welder while stationed on the USS Jonas Ingram and USS Hunley. He served during the Vietnam War until his honorable discharge in 1974. Skip was a welder for 17 years with Crucible Steel and was then employed with D.N. Gannon Fabricating in Eastwood for over 26 years until his retirement in 2014. Skip was a member of The LP Declercq and enjoyed hunting and fishing on Tuscarora Lake.

          He is survived by his loving companion and partner of 25 years, Kathleen M. Sciuga of Erieville; four beloved  children, Joseph W. (Victoria) Duszak of Atkinson, NH, Joshua A. (Cariann) Duszak of Londonderry, NH, Karyn (Brandon) Turnbull of Nelson and Becki Duszak of Erieville; his mother, Genevieve Duszak of Warners, two brothers, Donald (Sharon) Duszak of Solvay and Larry (Nancy) Duszak of Warners and four adored grandchildren, Jack, Charlotte, Ava and Natalia as well as several nieces and nephews. Skip was predeceased by his father, Joseph Richard Duszak II.

          In lieu of calling hours there will be a Celebration of Life memorial held at the family’s convenience. Contributions in memory of Mr. Duszak may be made to Hospice of CNY, 990 Seventh North St., Liverpool, NY 13088.
