I called him 'Bases' in my novels about growing up in Delphi Falls and he and Martha were always my first stop when I visited my childhood friends and town. Martha would be the first to read my books and Bobby was always there for me with a bag of grapes and a Firehouse T-shirt. Story after story he would tell me and I would weave them into a novel. Bobby had a passion for playing baseball and was delighted when I named him 'Bases' in The Pompey Hollow Book Club series. He will always be remembered fondly by me.He's now with his Martha. Pamela loved them both and we would visit them in Delphi Falls and in Manlius. I remember the time Coach Dan Driscoll had a stroke and Bobby stepped up and fought the snow and bitter cold to go pick up Sylvia Driscoll every single day and drive her to the hospital to see her Dan. He'd wait and drive her back home - every day. This was the kind of guy Bobby 'Bases' Mawson was...and his legacy will forever live. Travel well my friend. Don't forget your baseball glove..

Deepest sympathies to the Mawson clan near and far. Bob was so patient and kind whenever I whisked Martha off to another quilt shop or gathering. I know hoe much Bob missed Martha- so happy they are together again. They will both be in my thoughts and prayers always.

We are so sorry Uncle Bob had to leave this world so soon. He was always the father figure when we were growing up. Last time I saw him he was looking for his wife. Now he has rejoined her and Mark and will be watching over everyone with that warm loving smile he always had. RIP Uncle Bob. We love you more than words can say.

Words cannot express the love I have for Uncle Bob. The most kind and caring person I have ever known. I’ve spent so many days at the Mawson household in my youth I thought I lived there. Uncle Bob always made us feel welcome. From his homemade fudge to taking me to a Yankees game in ‘75. There are too many priceless memories. I am so glad that he was a part of my life. I will miss him dearly and remember him fondly. May you Rest In Peace Uncle Bob. I will miss you.
