Pat and I had some amazing debates about the environment, Caz Lake, art, politics, the weather, etc.. I skiied with her at Toggenberg and was always amazed at her skill.
We were both members of Willow Bank: I sailed a Lightning with my husband, while Pat sailed her Sunfish. She had great conversations with my WWll Veteran Dad at our League of Women Voters Christmas parties. We will raise a toast to honor Pat at our LWV Christmas party next weekend.
Looking forward to her celebration next year

We always called her Muriel; she was a beloved and cherished family friend ever since she and Mom grew up together in Englewood. They remained buddies their entire lives.
Paul & I saw her often when we attended, & returned for visits to, Colgate. Whenever I told Muriel that she was my hero, she'd make jokes and brush it off--but she truly was...and continues to be a fabulous role model.
I just loved her stories of her much younger ski partners, of how she finagled her fabulous trips, and how she and Mom (Gerry Groth Kennedy) struck up in-depth conversations with anyone and everyone!
Muriel attended our wedding in 1976 in Carmel, NY and our 20th Anniversary renewal of vows in 1996 in Fairfield, CT. We treasured her presence--and everything about her!
Please be sure to include us in your celebration of her life in the spring/summer!
The world is a far better place for the ebullience of Muriel Crosby!

I met Pat in 1989 when I moved to Caz as a retired cop. She was my first friend in the area.
I was 42 and she was in her 70's. We could easily help each other. I enjoyed her company and conversations and joy. A life to celebrate.

I knew Pat from my days at Caz ski club and Willowbank. As young as 8, I have such fond and vivid memories of Pat, gracefully shushing down the slopes at Caz with her ski patrol fanny pack, always so full of happiness and cheer. There was so much light behind her eyes, and such vitality and curiosity! She was one of the very few adults that, as a young girl, then later as a teenager, I recall actually seemed to see me- to see my soul beyond my age. I was continually struck by the way she was so open and seemed to connect with so many people- and was amazed at how independent and happy she seemed to be.
Later, as an adult while visiting home each summer, I would see Pat getting into her sailboat heading out on the water at Willowbank. She was so adventurous and capable! I truly admired this about her. Each summer, we would have a little chat on the grass, and, as time passed from 20 years to 40 years later, Pat was still just as engaging and curious as ever! She would ask me questions about my life and tell me about some of her adventures. We would get into fascinating philosophical discussions and ponderings.
I will miss seeing Pat! And I know her spirit will be alive and present everywhere! What a gift to the world she was, in spirit and action- and will continue to live on and on...
My heart goes out to all of you, her beloved family and friends, who I know will miss her deeply. ❤️
