The Miner family came into my life when I needed them the most. They became my surrogate family. They treated me like their own child.
Bill.....what can I say...he knew when you were down and out and knew if you needed "DAD" Bill to talk to you to be sweet and kind or if you needed "FRIEND" Bill to crack jokes(at you...sometimes with you) to get you out of the funk you were in.
Thank you for having me in your life to share so many memories with me. Thank you for being there for me when I needed it the most. Thank you for being the kind, generous man that you were.
My heart truly breaks for Nancy, Lisa, Robert, Shelby and the entire Miner family. Sending healing prayers and comforting hugs.

To Nancy, Lisa, Robbie, Shelby, Peggy, Scott & the entire family & friends - I am so sorry and my deepest condolences. Needless to say I was devastated when I learned of this horrible news.
Bill & I have been bowling opponents & teammates for many many years. We date back to the late 70's - early 80's when Bill would bowl in Cazenovia with his Dad Grump, Ken Daniel,Terry Daniels & others. Boy were those some crazy days?? The past couple of years Bill & I became golf partners on the Monday Night FM Gents league. We also played in several tournaments over the years and for the past several years on Memorial Day weekend we have played in the KLB Memorial Tournament at Orchard Valley with Rug & Bert. What a team !! Through all this we had plenty of time to chat seriously as well as the usual horse play. I can't tell you how supportive Bill was for me when my wife passed two years ago. If I needed someone to talk to Bill would sit and listen no matter how busy at the lanes. I couldn't ever thank him enough. Also over time I would listen to Bill who was so supportive of his kids no matter the circumstances at the time. He always so hopeful and positive towards them. Most recently he was so proud of how Shelby's bowling game was coming along. He liked bragging about that. Also important for Bill was his devotion for the business. His main goal always to make his customers and clientele happy. He would always be putting something back into the establishment to keep us all happy. That's what mattered to him.
In closing - all I can say is that I've lost a very close friend and I pray for Shelby's recovery & the entire Bill Miner family. GOD BLESS !! Bill - We're going to miss you my friend!

We wish to extend our heartfelt sympathies of your loss. We are beyond words. What a great guy Bill was! He graduated with one of Peters brothers, and we reconnected when we joined a league there. It was like being welcomed home. Bill even took care of our boys when they would come in to open bowl.He would share his wisdom of the sport.
Please accept our thoughts and know how wonderful of a man he was!

Roby, We are saddened with the loss of your dad. He was a wonderful, fun, caring and funny guy. Sunday nights will never be the same. The last Sunday he worked we joked with him because he had 2 lanes giving him issues and trying to run the desk. We had him on his toes all night, but he never complained. Our prayers go out to you and your family.

My name is Jerry Donegan, I work for Stanton Automatics. We own the games at Green Lakes lanes. I have done business with Bill for many years. In that time we had many great conversations about Pop Warner football as we both coached. I too have a son named Rob that played so we would talk about the boys. He was very proud of Robbie. I always enjoyed talking with Bill on any subject, he was a genuine person with a big heart. I will greatly miss him as many people will. My heart and my hand go out to his family. Please let me know if there is anything I can do.
Sincerely,
Jerry Donegan

Bill, such a strong, down to earth, open minded, sweet individual who was nothing but a good soul to be around. Ive known Bill and his family since I was three years old. Whenever my family came in, he would hide somewhere and scare me, worked everytime. I got Fries and mountain dew everytime, always said I got too hyper afterwards haha. Im so thankful, we got to talk to him once last time, will never be the same without you. To the miner family, you guys are so strong and are in our prayers everyday. Rest in peace Bill, you will never be forgotten.

Bill, you were a good man. I hope you know how much you were loved by everyone that had the privilege of interacting with you.
You were "that" guy. By that I mean that if I (or anyone) were to enter a room full of people and spot you in it, I knew that I was going to have a good time merely by sharing your company. For a myriad of reasons. You could pick me up if I was down. And you sure as heck could make me laugh. Either with you, or at you. Usually both. And it was by design.
The world will be a bit darker without your light in it.

Bill always respected and genuinely cared about my kids. He knew when they were having a good days, and he knew when they were frustrated. He taught them the wonderful game of bowling and took pride in their success on the lanes. He loved watching my son grow from a shy boy to a confident man, knowing that our time at his alley would play a role in his success in life. For that, Bill will always have a place in my heart. He will be missed. Rest In peace, my friend.

Had the pleasure of bowling the last couple years and talking with Bill, and he was always friendly, kind and generous, like a lot of us from the Fabius Pompey area.
First met Bill in 3rd or 4th grade..... many years ago.
This horrific loss will leave a burning hole inside all who knew him and will eventually stop burning, but always remain a hole.
My sincere sympathy to the family and hope that you find comfort from one another in this difficult time.

There were so many good times both past and current. From golfing to bowling and just hanging out at the lanes watching sports to criminal minds... claw machine days, pinball games & great conversation about everything. He was a big influence and mentor to my son's. One of my closest freinds. I am deeply saddened by all this. I will forever be there for anyone in his family as he was there for me.

I'll never forget faking Bill out in the lane last April and thinking I was in the clear for a wide open 5 foot jump shot. Figuring he was somewhere kicking himself after falling for the fake, I went up easy and out of nowhere Bill comes back and sends my shot right back at me. Bill could play ball and will not be forgotten.

I'm quite sure this will be a common thread, but to know Bill was to know the best of an individual. In all the years I knew him, I don't think I ever saw him in anything but a great mood. Always the positive attitude, always an ear to listen. Although I'm sure there were times he may not have been in top of his own game, he'd still just sit there and listen if you needed an ear. To Nancy, Lisa, Robbie, Shelby, and the rest of the family, my sincerest condolences. Although you lost a loving father, husband, etc., the rest of us lost a great friend as well. Tuesday nights will never be the same.

Bill was a good competitor apparently in just about every sport or activity he undertook. I enjoyed playing golf with him and enjoyed it even more when I finally was able to beat him. We talked a lot about things on our outings when there were no distractions, and got to know each other pretty well in spite of the years and distance between us. I've known him 50 years and can say he worked very hard his whole life. It is nice to read the tributes and comments made by so many people who knew him. He was a good brother-in-law and friend.....
