Very early in my career at Upstate and long before I became a nurse myself I had the good fortune to work with Anne in the Emergency Room. Anne was an extremely hard worker, an excellent nurse and a role model for all who worked with her. Even though we only worked together for a short while our paths crossed many times through the ensuing twenty-five plus years and she always greeted me warmly with that great smile of hers. Upstate was so very fortunate to have her as long as we did and definitely won’t be the same without her. Rest In Peace Anne

Anne and I worked together in the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit years ago. She actually tried to talk me into joining the ski patrol but I never thought I was up to the task. Anne was so skilled and knowledgeable about so many things, I always admired her. She always had a smile on her face, and it could brighten anyone’s day, including mine! What a loss her passing is! Thoughts and prayers to her friends and family!

I met Ann and worked with her for a number of years on Public Health Preparadness activities in my role in the Health Department. She was so dedicated and selfless and brought practical advice to all discussions. She quickly became one of my favorite people to work with as she knew how to navigate difficult problems and seek practical solutions without any ego. She was always kind and professional and will be profoundly missed!

Very sorry to hear of Anne's passing. What a great person, professional and educator. The world of critical care both adults and peds will have a void. The impact Anne had was tremendous and will never be forgotten. She was a remarkable person and always remembered your name. She and people like her who have recently passed were the true heroes of Upstate Medical Center, not the higher ups who just took the big paychecks and did very little.RIP Anne,we shall never forget.I am sorry I cannot be there to celebrate her life as I am in Georgia helping a sister with cancer. We are and always will be caretakers.

So very sorry to hear of our neighbor Anne's passing. We lived next door to her for close to 10 years on Huntington Dr., and what incredible neighbors she and her sister Sue were. Very fond memories of the Ryan sisters, and how helpful they were to us as new residents, from Southern California. I also worked at Upstate as a nurse and knew well of Anne's expertise as one of their very best ER nurses.

Anne began serving on New York State's Emergency Medical Services for Children Advisory Committee in 2017 as NY’s ENA representative. The EMSC Advisory Committee is responsible for advising the Health Department and its Commissioner on all aspects of emergency care for children. The mission of the EMS for Children program is to reduce child and youth mortality and morbidity caused by severe illness or trauma. From the first meeting, Anne was interested, engaged, active and volunteered for the Department of Health's regulatory subcommittee and anything else I needed. She always made the effort to connect with me personally and was a welcomed addition to the Committee and my life here with EMSC. She was very smart and dedicated and will be missed greatly.
