Obituary of Domenick Mihaich

Domenick Mihaich, 95, of Vero Beach, Florida and Cazenovia passed away September 5, 2018 at VNA Hospice House in Vero Beach, Florida. Domenick was born on September 17, 1922 in Croatia on the Island of Cres, Village of Belej. He was a merchant seaman and immigrated to the United States in 1950. Domenick married Mary Radelich on May 18, 1952 at SS. Cyril & Methodius Croatian Catholic Church in New York City. They lived in Astoria, Long Island and later Glen Cove, Long Island for 30 years. Dominick had an automobile body & fender repair business in Astoria, Queens and had worked at Fallon Oldsmobile in Bethpage, Long Island and retired from Luyster Motors in Glenn Cove. Dominick moved to Vero Beach and spent their summers at their home in Cazenovia.  

He leaves his loving wife of 66 years, Mary; sons, Daniel (Cathy) Mihaich of Cazenovia, Dominick Mihaich of Thornton, CO and David (Patti) Mihaich of Steamboat Springs, CO; his grandchildren, Dustin, Darren, Hannah and Hunter; his brother, Tony (Judy) Mihaich of Tasmania, Australia as well as several nieces and nephews. Dominick was predeceased by his daughter, Catherine at the age of 7 years old due to cancer; his parents, John and Katherine Mihaich and by his brother, John Mihaich.

A memorial service will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, May 25, 2019 at Michael E. Brown Funeral Services, 2333 Fenner Road in Cazenovia. Burial will be in St. James Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family has requested donations to be made in memory of his daughter, Cathy (1953-1960) to Sloan Kettering Memorial Hospital, NYC or to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, P.O. Box 1000, Dept. 142, Memphis, TN 38101-9908.
