Obituary of David E. Craig

After a tenacious fight with cancer, David E. Craig, 74, of Cazenovia, passed away peacefully at home on Wednesday, November 8, 2023 with his loving family by his side. David was born June 27, 1949 in Syracuse to C. Ernest and Betty J. (Rossiter) Craig and was a graduate of the University of Massachusetts Amherst with a Bachelor’s degree in Wildlife Biology. David had been employed as the Campus Director for Campus Crusade for Christ and retired as a self-employed Real Estate Investor, Property Developer and Housing Provider. He was a member of the Eastern Hills Bible Church and enjoyed hunting and fishing. He was a man of great generosity, faithfulness, and integrity. A deep and lifelong love for the outdoors was only eclipsed by his love for his wife, children, and grandchildren. “He was loved.” David was a beloved husband of 51 years to his wife, Susan Kredell Craig and is also survived by his children, Stephanie (Brendan) Reagan of Cazenovia, Rebekah (Kurt) Wheeler of Cazenovia, Benjamin (Erin) Craig of Ada, MI and Andrew (Priscilla) Craig of East Greenbush, NY; his brother, Daniel (Cheryl) Craig of Merrimack, NH; his sisters, Suzanne (David) Abatsis of Stowe, MA, Carolyn (Gary) Hitterman of Casa Grande, AZ and Sharon Craig of Acton, MA; his sister-in-law, Judy Craig of Groton, MA; his 12 grandchildren, Grace, Bella, Clara, Faith, Elizabeth, Gabriel, Ella, Addison, Emet, Victor, Leon and Evangeline as well as several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, David was predeceased by his brother, Robert Craig. A Celebration of David’s life will be held at a later date. Private graveside services will be held in Evergreen Cemetery, Cazenovia. There are no calling hours. In lieu of flowers the family would be grateful for donations in David's honor to the Syracuse Rescue Mission Alliance, attn: Gift Processing, 155 Gifford Street Syracuse, NY 13202 or online at https://give.rescuemissionalliance.org/give/423734/#!/donation/checkout.
