Obituary of Stephen R. Truelson

Stephen R. Truelson, 77, of Cazenovia, New York passed away peacefully surrounded by loved ones on Thursday, December 7, 2023. Steve was reunited with his parents Charles and Gwendolyn Truelson, brothers Chuck and Kevin who passed on before him. Steve was born and raised in Brockport, NY. He graduated from Brockport High School where he lettered in basketball and baseball before joining the United States Navy, and proudly serving in Vietnam. Upon returning home, Steve joined American Airlines and worked in the travel industry for 20 plus years. Steve was a proud father, husband, grandfather, and great grandfather. He was also an avid golfer, loved dogs, spent time tinkering around the house and enjoyed a cold Labatt Blue from time-to-time. Steve is survived by his wife of 54 years, Adell Truelson; his children, Eric (Becki) Truelson of Rochester, NY and Karin (Tim) Garrett of Honeoye Falls, NY; his brother, Jon (Denise) Truelson of Myrtle Beach, SC; sisters, Donna (Bruce) Proctor of Hamlin, NY, Shelly Waterman of Byron, NY and Heather Norman of Hamlin, NY; his grandchildren, Tabitha and Kylie Truelson, Maddy and Tyler Garrett and great granddaughter Ayla Ince. There will be no formal calling hours or funeral, rather a celebration of Steve’s life is being planned for January.
