Dick was a true gentleman in all respects. Whether on the racecourse or golf course or just having a conversation. It was a pleasure knowing him. My family and I send our sincerest sympathies to the Mitchell family.

My heart felt condolences go to Maureen, Zack, and Eli. I had the good fortune to meet Dick through work. His openness, caring and understated sense of humor allowed everyone to quickly feel they were his friend. We shared a love of skiing, he showed me his love of the Caz ski hill, we enjoyed some after work race nights, and bluebird end of season bump get a ways from work. When I tried my hand at sailing he was there to laugh with me at my inability to control an Opti. Dick will be deeply missed, but our memories of him will live on and hopefully help to comfort his loved ones.

I am so very sorry. I enjoyed sailing with him and against him for many years. I was a junior at Crescent Sail Yacht Club, and him aIt Grosse Pounte Clubwent to a few 470 (sailing dingy) regattas with him and had a great time. We were both kids, and were acting like kids, but we made it through and enjoyed it. My Deepest condolences to his family, although I only knew Trip, his older brother. I did have the pleasure of communiticating with him a few years ago. So very sorry...

Tripp, you have my sincere condolences and deepest sympathy. I just saw Dick's obituary in the GPNews. I know what it is like to lose a younger brother and my heart goes out to you. I'm in SLC several times a year and would love to catch up. Drop me a line at Cazabon@mideng.com if you feel like it. I'll share this information with Pat.

I had the pleasure of competing against Dick for many years in Laser sailboats. As a competitor, he always demonstrated the highest level of sportsmanship. We spent many hours after racing talking and enjoying his company and engaging personality. I am truly lucky to have known him, and extend my deepest sympathies to all the Mitchell family.

I worked with and under the wonderful leadership of Dick for 26 years, both at Welch Allyn and GE. He was the kind of person who made friends with everyone he met. His sense of humor was topnotch with a terrific laugh, but what really stood out was his compassion and sincere caring for people. I was the recipient of that compassion many times. He never called me Marcia, I can't remember a single time he did. It was always Casey. Dick will be greatly missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him. Dick made work fun and rewarding. We have all lost a wonderful friend. My heart breaks for Maureen, Zack and Eli. I know you have wonderful memories and I hope they comfort you in the days ahead.

My sincerest condolences to Dick's family. I worked with Dick at Welch Allyn in the early - mid 90s. Every person Dick worked with had a great deal of respect for him and Dick was a friend to all. I remember when I accepted a position in a different division of Welch Allyn Dick sat me down and had a long conversation and wanted me to stay. I ultimately did not stay but I always remembered that conversation. He was a super nice guy and will be missed by all who knew him.
