I had the privilege of working with Mr. Wheler at Stearns & Wheler. I was very proud to work for a company bearing his name and reputation. He was an very intelligent, hard working and respected engineer and business man. However, what I will remember most is the kind, compassionate and caring man that he was. My son was born shortly after I started work there and Mr. Wheler made it a point to stop in and ask how both he and I were doing constantly. After he retired, he was still a pleasant and constant visitor, and still stopped in with a smile and friendly conversation. He was a man of integrity, honesty and was a remarkable man that will be greatly missed and made a lasting impression on everyone he met.
