Alex was my first friend at Fredonia and his impact set a trajectory for my time there, and beyond. His wonderful spirit projected his appetite for music, love for outdoors, and passions for disc golf, thinking, and laughing.
Alex and I would drive to concerts from NYC to Cleveland to Pittsburgh, and all in between. His little Toyota Tercel was one of my favorite places to be because it meant time with a wonderful friend and whatever adventure ahead. Growing up in adjacent towns means that we’d often ride together when the holidays came. We would always stop at Middle Ages for a pint on our way in town, and also on our way out of town.
Graduation meant that we embarked on our next stages of life, but in my heart I always thought that we would reconnect. But closely and regularly. Like we would be old men eating breakfast every Wednesday.
Years forward, I have a son named Alex; and although it was not specifically because of him, but it shows unquestionably a testament to our friendship.
Alex Coronado will forever be one of my favorite memories. My deepest sympathies and condolences to his family and friends,

Alex was a musician of infectious enthusiasm and spirit. I will always remember Alex’s bright smile as he walked on stage with his bass alongside me as a 7th or 8th grader for what was maybe the last song I played in high school. Music seemed to just flow from him. He will be missed.

I spent some good times with Alex at the Opossum House in Fredonia. I remember crazy distorted bass jams, great conversations, MFing disc golf(such distance!), and the barefoot era!
My heart and tears go out to all family and friends who are closer to him than I. Truely sad news; my deep and sincere condolences.
Be well in life and joyous with fond memories,
John W.

Alex, you changed my life. Thank you for being a radical transformative light in a time of darkness . Enjoy the great disc golf course in the sky . Thanks for all the inspiration and spurring toward liberation struggles, Coronado.
Ode to some yellow flowers by Pablo Neruda
Rolling its blues against another blue,
the sea, and against the sky
some yellow flowers.
October is on its way.
And although
the sea may well be important, with its unfolding
myths, its purpose and its risings,
when the gold of a single
yellow plant
explodes
in the sand
are bound
to the soil.
They flee the wide sea and its heavings.
We are dust and to dust return.
In the end we’re
neither air, nor fire, nor water,
just
dirt,
neither more nor less, just dirt,
and maybe
some yellow flowers.
Pablo Neruda -Oda a unas flores amarillas-
Oda a unas flores amarillas
Contra el azul moviendo sus azules,
el mar, y contra el cielo,
unas flores amarillas.
Octubre llega.
Y aunque sea
tan importante el mar desarrollando
su mito, su mision, su levadura,
estalla
sobre la arena el oro
de una sola
planta amarilla
y se amarran
tus ojos
a la tierra,
huyen del magno mar y sus latidos.
Polvo somos, seremos.
Ni aire, ni fuego, ni agua
sino tierra,
solo tierra
seremos
y talvez
unas flores amarillas.

My mentor, my friend, my stinky buddy. You helped me develop my passion. You encouraged and pushed me. You yelled and laughed at me. You shared everything in that big melon with me. Without you, I could not be me. To the family, I say thank you for creating my Alx and for sharing him with me; I am so very sorry for your loss. To my friend, Stay Weird, Big Guy... stay weird
