Dear Teasa and children, It is difficult to believe that Luke has been gone already for one year. Please know that I continue to keep you in my prayers. I'm sure that Tom is not from from your hearts and there are days you feel you can't take another breath without him but know that God is holding you in tender arms and loves you soooo much. Dear Teasa and Family, It was with great sadness that I learned of Tom's illness and death. Tom's incredible sense of humor and his gentle nature made him loved and appreciated wherever he went. I remember with great affection several enjoyable dinners at the Luke's, first in Preble and then in Tully. Mary Wilson once said, "Oh, Jimbo, I wish there were three of you, and fifty Tom Lukes!" (And I agreed!) My thoughts and prayers are with you during this difficult time. Love, Jim

To Carol, JoAnne and Mary Ellen, I was so sorry to hear about your brother's death. Our mothers and grandmothers were all so close over the years. Tom came to our house one time to pick up our living room sofa. We were getting a new one and I think he was furnishing his first apartment! My sympathy to you and all of Tom's family. Teasa, Madalyn, Julian & Isaac- I am so very sorry to hear about Tom's passing. While we lost a stellar man here on earth, heaven gained a wonderful soul. My prayer for all of you in these coming days is to be held in the love, prayers and thoughts of your family & friends. I hope you all, and those of us who were blessed to know Tom in one way or another, carry on his grateful heart, calm demeanor, love of family and mission to help others. It was a pleasure to get to know him & all of you during Isaac's year in first grade. I will always remember the conversations Tom & I had at school and how talking about his family lit up his entire being. He loved you all very much and you all were a source of joy and strength for him. Continue to be a source of joy and strength for one another. My sincerest condolences, thoughts & prayers. Fondly, Melissa Pickard

Tom - You will never know quite the impact you had on my life as a young social worker fresh out of college in 1992. TLS was my first human services job and who was my mentor....you. I was in awe of the gentle, compassionate, truly warm person you were to everyone and how the way you applied social work really did WORK! It all of my jobs after that, no matter where life took me, I tried to emulate your style, your way. I tried to be the social worker you taught me to be. The sense of loss I feel from 3000 miles away is great but the joy I feel knowing all of the lives you touched and smiles you put on peoples faces puts a smile on mine. I will miss you my friend.
