Hunter was an amazing person, great colleague, and genuinely authentic guy. He was my first hire as a Member of Colgate Campus Safety Search Committee. From the first meeting, I instantly knew Hunter was the best fit for the position. He radiated positivity, kindness, curiosity, and eagerness to learn. Since that day we maintained a connection. He would always stop when he saw me walking on campus and we would chat about everything and nothing in particular. We talked at the games, we talked at the Campus Safety building, we talked at the Quad. We had a huge respect for each other. Students admired Hunter. I will miss him - his smile, his calm demeanor, and him being present in our lives. My thoughts are with Hunter family and everyone who he was friends with. Hunter, you are always in my heart. Hunter was a friend, brother and an amazing coworker. We meet at Colgate really connected at the campus safety security academy. Ever since then I knew I had someone who had my back. He always called himself to my kids Uncle Hunter when we talking about them and told me if I was to get married that he was going to be my best man. You will be missed Tasha and I loved having you as a best friend we definitely loved having you around and definitely regret not making that Cancun trip.

Hunter was more than a teammate to me; he was truly like a brother. His memory will continue to live on in all of us who had the privilege of knowing him. When I transferred to Morrisville to play basketball, he welcomed me with genuine kindness and open arms. From early morning workouts to long practices and meals shared together, he quickly became a part of my family. To the family and other friends of Hunter, I am so sorry for your tragic loss. I was honored to attend the Security Officer Academy with Hunter, and I'm thankful for the conversations we had. Although we didn't remain as close as we would've liked each time we chatted or caught up he was a positive ray and always honest.
