Claire, I so well remember and treasure the time spent in the Sunday morning ensemble with Peter and Sister Eileen. They both helped to improve me as a singer/cantor and as a person. The world is much poorer without Peter. Thank God for your faith and God Bless

Claire and Amy, I feel so blessed to have been a part of your lives for so many years. We shared so many wonderful holidays and created a lot of very fond memories thanks to Pete, you, Amy and Pia. I love the photo of Pete you chose. That's how I want to remember him. I know why Pete and I got along so well, we were both Virgos born in early September. I am sorry I won't be able to be at the funeral services in person but I will be with you in thought and spirit. RIP Pete Winnewisser your work on earth is done and you did it well. You will be missed. Much Love and Hugs

I remember Mr. Winnewisser from my early childhood when he would drive my mom, Pat Dugan, my sister, Maeve, and me from Rome to Syracuse so Maeve could be treated for her hearing problems. He was so kind to us and I really loved spending time with him. I’m so sorry for your loss.

I remember Peter leading the music at St Ann’s folk mass in 1969. At some point in the mass we performed Age of Aquarius (Let the Sun Shine) from the Broadway musical “Hair”. As a 14 year old in that time I did not understand the significance of what Peter was teaching us. But I do now. RIP gentle revolutionary.
