Obituary of Geraldine Radway

Geraldine “Gerry” Radway, 77, of Fayetteville passed away Saturday, October 11, 2025 at Crouse Hospital. She was born in New Brunswick, New Jersey on January 27, 1948 to Joseph and Geraldine Siler. Gerry earned her Bachelor’s degree and Master’s in Library Science from Syracuse University. She was employed as a librarian for the Onondaga County Library System for four years and retired after 20 years as a research librarian at the Electronics Lab at General Electric/Lockheed Martin. Gerry was a member of The Syracuse Chapter of the American Contract Bridge Club and was honored with the prestigious Life Master award in 1996. This recognition was a testament to her unwavering passion for the game. As a dedicated teacher and advocate for introducing newcomers to the game, she left an indelible mark on the organization. Her contributions as a player and educator will be fondly remembered by many. She was a member of the Oneida Lake Sailing Club and First Mate to her husband, Norman, Sailing out of the Oneida Lake Marina. During the 1980’s she served on the Board of Directors of the Onondaga Public Library System. Gerry was an exceptionally generous and thoughtful individual who held a profound affection for her family and friends. She was willing to make sacrifices for those she cared about. Gerry was an exemplary mother who provided her daughter with every opportunity within her power. Gerry’s love for her husband, Norman, was immense, and the prospect of reuniting with him instilled in her immense courage to embark on the journey to the next realm. She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Nicole Radway and Matthew Murphy of Lafayette, Colorado; two step grandchildren, Robbie and Andrew, eight nieces, Elizabeth, Terry, Beth, Jennifer, Lisa, Lori, Stas and Wendy; seven nephews, Richard, Robert, Michael, Scott, Josh, Nathaniel and Jay. In addition to her parents, Gerry was predeceased by her husband, Norman Radway. A calling hour will be held from 1 to 2 p.m., Saturday, November 8, 2025 with services to follow at Michael E. Brown Funeral Services, 2333 Fenner Road in Cazenovia. In lieu of flowers, contributions in Gerry’s memory may be made to Wanderers’ Rest Humane Association, P.O.
