Obituary of Genevieve Davies

Genevieve L. Davies, 72, of Cazenovia passed away on Wednesday, March 19th following her brave fight with cancer. She was born to the late Daniel I. and Eleanor R. Corbett of Watertown, NY on September 14th, 1941. Genevieve attended Watertown High School and graduated with the Class of 1959. Genevieve married her husband of 45 years, Gerald A. Davies on May 11th, 1968 at Sacred Heart Church in Watertown, NY. She served 24 years in the U.S. Army before retiring in June of 2000. Genevieve was a devoted member of North Madison Baptist Church in Chittenango, NY and Broken Arrow Baptist Church in Pierce, AZ. She enjoyed playing softball, bowling, camping, spending time with her grandchildren and serving her Lord and Savior. Genevieve is survived by her husband Gerald A. Davies of Cazenovia; two sons, Michael E. Davies of Marion, NY and Mark A. Davies of Aurora, CO; brother Daniel Corbett of Maryville, TN; her sisters Elaine Hendry of Cochise, AZ and Colleen Brown of Sierra Vista, AZ and five grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 2pm on Saturday, March 22nd at Tait Funeral Home, Inc., 2333 Fenner Road in Cazenovia. Calling hours will be held from 4-7pm on Friday at the funeral home. A spring burial will take place in Union Cemetery in Nelson. The family asks that donations be sent to North Madison Baptist Church, 501 Tuscarora Rd., Chittenango, NY 13037. A graveside service for Genevieve will be held at 2pm on May 17th at Union Cemetery on Welsh Church Road in Nelson.
