Obituary of Frank Gallucci

Frank A. Gallucci, Jr., 78, of Cazenovia, passed away Tuesday, October 6, 2015 at Crouse Hospital in Syracuse. He was born December 16, 1936 in Bridgeport, Connecticut, a son to the late, Frank A. and Viola Vetre Gallucci. Frank graduated from Stratford High School and enlisted in the U.S. Army where he served in Korea as a Paratrooper with the 11th Airborne Division. Upon returning the United States, Frank attended Saint Anselm College in Manchester, NH. While in college he was a member of the Red Key Society and graduated with a Bachelor's Degree in Mathematics. In 1962, Frank began his 30 year career with the Mutual Life Insurance Company of New York in New York City. He started in the Actuarial Department and retired in 1992 as the Executive Vice President of Policy Holder Services. Frank was an avid sports fan, especially when it came to New York Teams- the Yankees, the Jets and the Rangers. When he moved to Syracuse, he became a fan of Syracuse University sports and became a member of the Syracuse Sports Council. Frank was a soft spoken man who was a devoted husband and loyal friend. He firmly believed that you have one chance to leave this world a better place and quietly used his skills to that end. Frank was a member and past commander of the American Legion Post #88, Cazenovia; a member of the Syracuse Jaycees, Dewitt Rotary, Cazenovia Civic Club, Cazenovia Area Car Club and the Madison County Board of Tourism. He was a founding member of the MONeY Federal Credit Union, the first chairman of the Greater Cazenovia Area Chamber of Commerce and served as a board member of the Rosamond Gifford Zoo. Frank was a dispatcher for over 30 years with Cazenovia Area Volunteer Ambulance Corps (CAVAC). In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by a sister, Gloria Gallucci Marangoni. Frank is survived by his wife of 40 years, Mary K. Bamerick Gallucci of Cazenovia; a brother, Raymond C. (Dixie) Gallucci of Loveland, CO.; his mother-in-law, Ellen Jane Bamerick of Liverpool; brother-in-law, Kevin W. (Sandra) Bamerick of Baldwinsville; several nieces and nephews as well as his beloved Irish Setter, Brigadoon. The family would like to extend their appreciation to Dr. Cherny, Dr. Kirshner, Dr. Scalzo and Dr. Kligerman along with the staff and nurses at Hematology-Oncology Associates and Crouse Hospital for their compassion and loving care. Their support enabled Frank to maintain his pride and dignity throughout this journey. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 10 a.m., Friday, October 16, 2015 at St. James Church, 6 Green St., Cazenovia. Burial, with military honors, will be in St. James Cemetery. There are no calling hours.
