Condolences to the Campbell family. Our thoughts and prayers go out to your whole family. Psalms 147:3 says God, "heals the broken hearted, and binds up their wounds." May God bring you comfort and peace.

Back in the day - when we were sure we would star on Broadway - and when Dave looked so much like John Lennon - he was just as mellow and fun-loving as his friends are describing him now. As kids while his parents taught mine to square dance we ran all over his yard with his dog. While we majored in Drama at OCC we roamed the university district on rainy nights talking or taking part in peace marches. And then we all grew up. I am glad David still enjoyed life, friends, cars, and acting - though Santa was a natural for him, I'm sure.
RIP, old friend.

We are so sad to hear of the loss of David and our hearts go out to the family and especially Joanna who has a special place in our hearts. David was one of the first business owners I met in Cazenovia when I moved here from Illinois - whenever I had a problem with my car he was the person I went to because he was so kind with a quick smile and welcoming demeanor. Our thoughts and prayers are with all of you at this difficult time.

I have been away from Cazenovia for over 12 years now but I will never forget Dave's grin and the twinkle in his eye. My thoughts and prayers are with his family and the community who will miss him dearly.

He had a gifted disposition and a high level of curiosity and adventure.
In the years that I knew him he respected and spoke well of everyone. Perhaps those that he felt differently about him he never discussed.
Everyone just loved him.
May God bless you in his kingdom.

So sorry to hear of Dave's passing. We worked together a long time ago and tho we didn't spent much time together since then, he will be missed. He was a man that didn't let life get him down, no matter the circumstances. Being a community type person, we would sometimes meet in the village and have a chat, always with a smile.

Please accept my condolences for your loss. I met Dave several years ago when I had an issue with my SAAB (he loved SAABS).He was such a fair and honest person. I knew when I took my car to him that we would spend less time speaking about the car and more time just visiting. He had such a great sense of humor and quick wit.He will be greatly missed. I will be unable to attend the calling hours...but will be thinking of your family.

David and I were close in high school. He was Ali Hakim and I was Ado Annie in Oneida Little Theater's production of Oklahoma! We spent a fair amount of time in gas stations and looking for car parts. And dancing. He loved to dance. He was also a family friend, and my brother, Wendell, my sister Jenny and I all feel the loss of his buoyant, original spirit. Rest easy, David.

Dave & I were good friends in high school.
The first and only time I ever skipped school was with Dave - we went to Munson-William-Proctor Art Institute. Real rebels, we were.
His appreciation for the beautiful things in life was contagious.
He was like a breath of fresh air.
He will be sorely missed.

To the members of Dave Campbell's family, I am truly sorry for ya'lls loss. He was an amazing man, mechanic and fun person! Last time I saw or visited with him, was awhile back, up at Johnnie Minor's derby in ? I moved out of Madison county in 2004. you all have many good memories of him!
Why is it one does not hear of people except for when they die?

This is the worst way to start a New year - I am totally devastated by this tragic news. From the time I moved to Cazenovia in 1973 David has been the one to take care of me and my kids - as a single Mom we trusted him literally with our lives keeping our cars safe and sound. Now he has been doing this for my daughter and both my Grandchildren - he kept us all safe and our cars running in perfect top shape - so trusted and so very much loved. No one was a kinder more gentle spirit than Dave - the perfect choice for Cazenovia's Santa at Christmas. So unfair to lose such a great human being so young. David will be badly missed. He just replaced the entire exhaust system in my car right after New years and when I went to pick the car up - before I left I gave him a big hug and a kiss and thanked him for always being there for me and keeping me safe. He will be so badly missed by me and my kids. We loved you Dave ♥
