Obituary of Ken Kelchner

Kenneth R. Kelchner, 61, of Cazenovia, passed away Sunday at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Syracuse. He was born in Syracuse, a son to the late Roland and Joan Kelchner and grew up in New Woodstock. Ken graduated from Cazenovia High School in 1972 and then went to work for the Carrier Corporation, where he retired in 2015 after 40 years of service. Ken’s life revolved around his children. When they were young, he was their coach in youth sports and when his daughter excelled in skiing-he was her biggest fan and always on her “Adventure Bus”. Ken enjoyed riding his Harley Davidson, talking about classic cars, trains and old farms.
He is survived by his children, Jay Kelchner of Cazenovia and Jennifer (Shayne) Stedman of Auburn, California; Like a son - nephew, Christopher (Kim) Kelchner; Like a daughter - niece, Heather (Steve) Evanick; his former wife, Doreen Cook; siblings, Keith (Kat) Kelchner, Kristianne (Michael) Earnhardt and Kim (Zeeve) Kelchner; three grandchildren, Morgen Kelchner, Lyla Grace and Riggins Stedman as well as several nieces and nephews.
