Obituary of Mary Jane Smith

Mary Jane Smith, 79, of Erieville, passed away peacefully Thursday afternoon at home with her family by her side. She was born in Nelson, a daughter to the late Edward and Beatrice Billings. Mary Jane lived in Sherrill, Peterboro and Perryville before moving to Erieville in 1950. She was a homemaker and enjoyed dancing and bowling. Mary Jane was the oldest living member of the Erieville Fire Department Auxillary. She is survived by her husband of 62 years, Velton Smith; four children, Susan Miner of Bouckville, John Smith of Cazenovia, Velton (Michelle) Smith, Jr. of Waynesboro, VA and Priscella (Chuck) Ammon of Morrisville; one brother, James (Lou) Billings of Florida; 11 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren.
