Condolences to the Furze family. Our thoughts and prayers go out to your whole family. Psalms 147:3 says God, "heals the broken hearted, and binds up their wounds." May God bring you comfort and peace.

Dear Family
I was so sorry to read of Ricky's passing in the paper the other day.
Even Vinnie said what a good guy he was. When they use to hang out together the two of them and Vinnie's dad put up a basketball pole in cement and they each put their birthdays in the cement before it dried. It is still there.
I want to come to calling hours but this snow may prevent me from coming.
God Bless you and your family during this sad time
Ann Marie

Ricky
Not even sure where to begin,me and you where very close growing up coming to my house on weekends, going to my basketball and hockey tournaments, playing basketball all hours of the day and night!! Then as older teenagers and younger adults we did what teenagers and adults do.I remember we would ride around the city and just play music and look for girls and it didn't take us much, but we shared a lot of good memories together and we also shared some down time as adults and some falling outs.I wish we could of been closer these past few years and we could of coached together and our kids could of played together the way we did,but one thing is for sure and that is we are cousins, family!!Even though I was the older cousin you always looked out for me and helped me out and that's something I won't ever forget, and when you needed me to beat somebody is basketball you called me lol!! But in all seriousness we don't always get the chance to say goodbye and I don't like goodbyes I think with all the death our family has gone through I've become accustom to it,so I'm not saying goodbye!! This is a conversation that we can continue when we meet again, because now you have no more pain,no more stress,no nothing!! Your in paradise with grandpa and my mom and everyone else watch a basketball game with grandpa and hug and kiss my mother and tell her I love her too!! So to my cousin I love you and one day again we will meet up again!! #RIP
Love Always
Your Cousin

Ricky, I don't even know where to start. You were one of the first people to befriend me in 8th grade, quickly showing the kindness you were made of. We immediately had a bond...late night (sometimes all night) talks, trips to P&C just before 11, songs, 3 roadtrips to Rhode Island to lay beside the ocean, visits with my grandfather, movies in the basement; I could trust you with anything. And I did. As high school endes, and real life began, those long days quickly became short catch-ups when I saw you at work and quick phone conversations or messages to check in with each other. You loved those boys and you'd beam with pride whenever you mentioned them. You were so glad to watch them play baseball....such a good father. You hated to see anyone upset and we're quick to turn that around. I keep remembering that in the moments I start to cry...you wouldn't want that for anyone you loved. I don't understand why things happen the way they do, but I am SO happy I have the sweetest moments to look back on with you. You left a huge example of what it is to be humble and kind. I love you, Richard David. I will never EVER forget you.

Hey Rick what can I say...
Could not have asked for a better friend growing up. From the day we met on the bus when you challenged me to a game of 1:1 and beat me, to endless games of madden 93, to late night b-ball in freezing cold with a flood light shining on us between march madness games dunking on the Pizza Hut hoop, to waiting anxiously for Annie and Jenna to come to the lake every summer, to playing army and camping down in the woods behind Dennis's house. You were a part of my family, and your endless friendship and big heart have shaped who I am today. If I could turn the clock back and relive every moment I would.
Love you man. Godspeed my good friend.

My condolences to Ricky's family. We were in the same high school class. Ricky was always friendly and happy. I remember how much he liked to play basketball. Years after high school, I saw him at Tops. He remembered me right away and was always nice, asking how I was and about my faimily. I'll remember Ricky's smile.

Ricky was part of the gang. Mark Brennan and I have been telling Ricky stories all weekend long. Alternating from laughing to crying.
Even though I lost touch with him after high school, (I've lost touch with almost everyone), I still considered him to be a good friend and fortunate to have known him growing up.
Everyone I told about his passing said the same thing about him, he loved basketball. And was a darn good player.
We will all miss Ricky, may god rest his soul.

For every life has a purpose to fill, a purpose which us humans can seldom infer. But Richard was a gift from heaven, whose purpose was to make this world understand what love, friendship, goodness, and humbleness was all about. Goodness belongs to heaven, and I know he is watching us from there, bestowing his smile upon us. May his soul rest in peace.
