Janice K. Ryan, nearly a lifelong resident of Cazenovia, died May 25 in Citrus Springs, Florida. As a communicant at St. James Church in Cazenovia, she sang with the St. James' Choir and was an active member of the Women's Society. She and her husband, Edward Ryan, formerly owned Ryan's Auto Parts in Cazenovia. She retired after serving fifteen years as the Democratic Commissioner of the Madison County Board of Elections. She was a member of the Cazenovia Gold Club. Family and friends joined Janice and Ed on the party barge "Cheers", as they spent long, hot summer days boating on Cazenovia Lake. She is survived by her husband of 55 years, Edward B. Ryan; her children, Timothy (Teresa) Ryan of Morristown, NJ, Kathleen Marie Ryan of Brewerton, NY, Howard (Beth) Ryan of Cazenovia, Raymond J. (Colleen) Ryan of Syracuse and Pamela A. Ryan of Morehead, KY; her sister Phyllis Petersen of Cazenovia; 12 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren. A Mass of Christian Burial will be Saturday, June 2 at 10 a.m. at St. James Church, Cazenovia. The Rite of Committal will be at St. James Cemetery. Calling hours will be held from 4:00 to 7:00 pm on Friday, June 1 at Tait Funeral Home, Inc., 2333 Fenner Rd., Cazenovia.
