Obituary of Carl Bentley

          Carl Hinman Bentley passed away Wednesday, November 22, 2017. He was born in Syracuse to Thomas and Grace Hinman Bentley on July 15, 1941 and grew up in Palermo, New York. He graduated from Baldwinsville High School and thereafter completed three years of college. Carl served in the U.S. Army for three years and was stationed in Korea for 15 months before returning home to marry the “Love of his life”, Carol Lee Crosby. They moved to Denver where he served the remainder of his duty and resided there for 10 years. Carl worked for General Motors in Colorado and returned to Syracuse where he continued to work as an inspector with the company until their closing. Carl and Carol moved to Georgetown, NY where Carl worked as an inspector for the Georgetown Water Treatment plant until his retirement.

           In 1995, he started taking voice lessons and later that year joined the Masters Touch Chorale. Carl joined the Syracuse Chorale in 1997 and with his amazing voice was honored to perform at the White House.

          He was predeceased by his wife of 54 years, Carol and by his daughter, Catherine. Carl is survived by his son, Carl Hinman Bentley, Jr. of Ohio.
