Eva Kolmer Durfee, 92, of Cazenovia, died Saturday at Crouse Community Center in Morrisville. Eva was born in Binghamton, New York on March 12, 1920, the daughter of George and Goldie Ayers. She owned and operated Eve's Beauty Nook in Nelson for over 30 years. Eva was a licensed beautician. Eva was an avid knitter, creating many beautiful sweaters that were often sold by a local retailer. She was a member of the Nelson United Methodist Church. Eva is pre-deceased by her sons, Gerald (Jerry) and Jim Kolmer; her grandsons, James and John; her first husband George Kolmer and second husband Frank Durfee. Surviving are her daughters, Judy Kolmer of Tampa, Florida and Jane Sullivan and her husband Paul of Cazenovia;her daughter's in law, Mary and Susan Kolmer; her grandchildren, Lisa, Jamie, Cory, Brent, Steven, Debbie, Tammy and Kelly; 14 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews and her best friend of 60 years Shirley Kitchner. Thanks Nancy for all of the nightly calls to Aunt E. A Celebration of life will take place at the Post #88 American Legion Hall, Chenango Street in Cazenovia on Sunday, September 9th at 2pm. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Crouse Community Center 101 South Street, Morrisville, NY 13408.
