Obituary of Steven Morezak

Steven Morezak, 97, of Lafayette, passed away Wednesday after a brief illness. He was born in Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania and resided in Lafayette for all of his adult life. Steven was well known in the area as a career dairy farmer and was owner of Morezak Farm in Lafayette. He was a member of the Pompey Hill Fire Department for over 66 years and a long-time member and past president of the Pompey Lions Club. Steven was a dedicated member of the Lions Club and was honored to receive the “Heart of a Lion” award in 2013 and the “Strong Lion” award in 2015. He valued his friendships and enjoyed playing cards, going out to dinner and maintaining his garden until the past year. He took great pride in his golfing ability as a dairy farmer showing many how the game should be played. He was a communicant of the Church of the Immaculate Conception in Pompey.
Steven is survived by his son, Stephen; a grandson, Joey (Heather) Morezak; a great grandson, Grayson as well as several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his wife, Catherine in 2014.
A calling hour will be held on Tuesday, November 19, 2019 from 10 to 11 a.m. at the Church of the Immaculate Conception, 7386 Academy St., Pompey. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. on Tuesday in the church following the visitation. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Pompey Hill Fire Department, P.O.
