Linda A. Skeele, 71, of Pompey, passed away Sunday, June 14, 2020. She was born April 7, 1949 in Hudson, New York to Robert and Anne Pratts Weinman. Linda was a graduate of Hudson High School in 1967 and S.U.N.Y. Cobleskill in 1969 where she earned her Associates degree in Secretarial Science. She was employed in the Communication News Office at Cornell University and the Fabius-Pompey School District as the secretary to the Superintendent until she decided to take time off to raise her three sons. Once they started school Linda resumed her employment with the Fabius-Pompey School District as a teacher’s assistant and advanced to a reading teaching assistant until her retirement in 2009. Linda’s greatest joy in life was being a mother and a grandmother, she was noted for operating a “not for profit Gramma daycare” for her six grandsons. She cherished every moment with her family. She was always there for them to listen and offer her wisdom but the greatest gift was her love. She is survived by her husband of 47 years, Edwin H. Skeele; their three sons, Brian (Cassandra) Skeele, Christopher (Teresa) Skeele and Nathan (Grace) Skeele all of Pompey; her brother, Robert (Judy) Weinman of Hudson; her sister, Mary (Frank) Halnon of Stuyvesant Falls, NY; six grandsons, Cash, Lincoln, Owen, Mason, Decker and Theodore “Teddy” as well as several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her brother, Michael Weinman and her sister-in-law Dawn Weinman. Due to the current Covid crisis, funeral services will be private. A celebration of Linda’s life will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers a donation can be made in Memory of Linda for the Reading Scholarship Fund with checks payable to FP Central School with her name listed in the memo to 1211 Mill St. Fabius, N.Y. 13063.
