Helen Dobrovech Latocha, 91, of Pompey, passed away Saturday, July 11, 2020 at Loretto in Syracuse. She was born July 31, 1928 in Syracuse, New York to George and Mary Dobrovech. Helen retired as the office manager of Dr. Jerome Laffer Pediatric Dentistry practice where she had been employed for 16 years. She was a member of the Craft Club, Catholic Women’s Club, Charter Member of the Pompey Hill Fire Department Auxiliary and the Senior Citizens of Fabius/Pompey. Helen enjoyed volunteering at Community General Hospital as a caregiver, traveling and spending time with her family. Helen is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Robert and Patricia Latocha of Springhill, Florida; her daughter-in-law, Debra Latocha of Holiday, Florida; her son-in-law, Gary Reichel of Pompey; five grandchildren; three great grandchildren and one great, great grandchild. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Joseph R. Latocha; her son, Stephen M. Latocha, her daughter, Mary M. Reichel and by her brothers, George and John Dobrovech. A private Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Immaculate Conception Church, Pompey with burial in St. Mary’s Cemetery in DeWitt. A public celebration of Helen’s life will be held at a later date.
