Obituary of Marion E. Proctor

Marion E. (Rushlow) Proctor, 101, of Fenner, passed away peacefully in her sleep December 25, 2020 at Crouse Community Center in Morrisville. Marion was born November 11, 1919 in Brandon, New York to Sumner and Haidee Rushlow and was a resident of Fenner for 75 years. She was employed as the head cook at Cazenovia Central and Burton Street Schools for several years until her retirement. Marion was a member of the Cazenovia United Methodist Church and was a 4-H leader who taught baking, sewing, knitting and crocheting. Among her many talents was gardening and at one time, there were no weeds to be found on her one-acre plot. She enjoyed canning and freezing her vegetables from which, she made her own sauces, ketchup, chili etc. Moreover, Marion loved her family and she will be missed and forever be in our hearts. She is now able to do what she always wanted, to eternally watch over us.
Marion is survived by her two sons, David J. (Maryrose) Proctor of Perryville and Ronald T. (Joanne) Proctor of Fenner; her daughter, Karen Otts of Fenner; her 98 years old sister, Kay Pierce; 14 grandchildren, 15, great grandchildren; one great, great grandson as well as several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, Marion was predeceased by her husband, Joseph M. Proctor; her daughters, Joan E. Sears and Janet M. Hayes; her brother, Sumner Rushlow and by her sisters, Shirley Washburn and Pauline Goodfellow.
Calling hours for Marion, and her son, Ronald will be held Monday, June 28, 2021 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. with services to follow at Michael E. Brown Funeral Services, 2333 Fenner Road in Cazenovia. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery, Cazenovia. Contributions made to the Foundation for Upstate Medical University, 750 East Adams St., CAB 326, Syracuse, NY 13210 and specify that your gift is to go to the Upstate Golisano Children’s Hospital in memory of Marion.
