I am sad to hear of Fred's passing. He was full of life and was so special to so many. His laugh could be heard for miles and we always knew where Fred was on the Golf Course. I will miss my good friend here on earth, but heaven just got one great guy with Fred. If it thunders real loud, I'll know it's Freddie Bear!

I worked with Fred a LONG time ago. He was a good friend and colleague. and Fred LOVED to laugh. I STILL tell his story of the kid walking past his car at the ice cream stand and his big black dog stuck his head out the window and ate the kids entire cone. Of course, Fred bought him another. Always fun.

I worked with Fred back in the 90's. He was honestly one of the funniest and upbeat people I have ever known. He had a great mind, one of those rare people that was both creative and technically gifted. I think back often to those days and smile. Chris, please know that you and your family are in my prayers.

Chris and family, Was shocked to hear of Fred's passing. Had no signs of any health issues, never complained. Fred was missed as golf season started at CCC this year. I actually asked him to sub for my partner three weeks back, but he was unable, and came to find he had changed his membership status. His absence will be sorely missed. I always enjoyed talking and playing with Fred over last few years. He was a good friend and listener, showed sincere interest whenever we chatted. Find it difficult that he is gone without "advance notice". Will miss his positive presence. My thought and prayers to Chris and family. Roger Bradstreet

Dear Chris, Will, Frank, and Jake,
I am deeply saddened to hear of Fred’s sudden passing. He was such a fun person—always quick to laugh in that booming laugh of his. Fred was so smart and generous, too. He helped us out so much over the years with his wisdom, generosity, and his tractor and backhoe.
His passing is a terrible loss. You all have my deepest sympathies. --Patty

I will hear Fred's bellowing laugh for years to come at Tuscarora Lake, and it will always make me smile. Fred was the best of people, always willing to help out, to have a pleasant chat for a little while, or to give some advice to city boys like me who have no idea how to keep a camp and a boat running safe and sound. His heart was as big as his laugh, and he put both into everything he did. Would that it could have beat forever.
Fred's legacy in his 3 boys, his lovely wife Chris, his granddaughters and other family members, and the home and farm he built with his family will always remind us of the best of him. His kindness and jovial spirit will live on at the lake for years to come.
Thank you, Fred, for everything. Chris, Will, Frankie, and Jake, please accept my deepest sympathies and please keep coming down to tease me like Fred did. With every wise crack, we'll keep his memory alive.
Deepest condolences, Ken
