Obituary of Ellen D. Romagnoli

Please share a memory of Ellen to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Ellen Delmore Romagnoli, 61, of Cazenovia, passed away at home with her family by her by her side on Friday, September 10, 2021. She was born September 17, 1959 in Rochester to Paul and Ann Delmore. Ellen received her undergraduate degree from SUNY Oswego majoring in Psychology and continued her education at Penn State where she earned her Master’s in Education. Ellen was a loving and devoted mother, wife, and friend. Her beautiful spirit impacted large networks of friends whom she loved dearly. She had an innate desire to give back to the community and to make the world a more beautiful place. Ellen was an active member of CazCares for many years and annually raised thousands of dollars for the Salvation Army Red Kettle Drive. As a member of the St. James’ Loaves and Fishes committee, her passion for cooking provided beautiful fruit trays for grieving families. Her selflessness was inspirational to her friends and her kids. She made everything she touched more beautiful, whether it was homemade costumes for her kids, vintage dolls she lovingly restored, the flower garden she cultivated, delicious meals made from scratch, memorable vacations to the beach, or the lovely home she created for the family. She was creative, thoughtful, and talented. She inherited a love of gardening and art from her mother and father. Ellen came alive while hosting her annual family reunions by the lake. She cherished her AD sorority sisters from SUNY Oswego and embraced their generous support during her final days. Her not so secret passion was doll collecting, and she made lifelong friends from attending annual Liddle Kiddle conventions. Her immense capacity for love extended to the many dogs and cats she cared for throughout her life. Ellen had a gift for making the everyday moments special and ensuring that everyone in her life felt loved. She is survived by her husband of 35 years, Jerry Romagnoli of Cazenovia; her children, Mark Romagnoli of Santa Monica, CA, Mary Kate (Eric Meldrum) Romagnoli of Colorado Springs, CO, Joseph Romagnoli of New York City and Elizabeth Romagnoli of Cazenovia; her mother Ann M. Delmore of Rochester; her sister, Maureen (Thomas) DiPiazza of Rochester; her brother, Paul (Kelly) Delmore, Jr. of San Diego, CA; one granddaughter, Nola Joy Meldrum; nieces, Molly, Kristen and Megan; nephews, Kyle, Ben, Ryan, JT and Andrew. Calling hours will be held from 4 to 7 p.m., Friday, September 17, 2021 at Michael E. Brown Funeral Services, 2333 Fenner Road in Cazenovia.
