I was so sorry to learn of Sara's passing and have very fond memories of Sara. I showed with her at the New York State Fair for a few years in the mid 90' s and even did a Pair's Class with her with our Tennessee Walkers. I also know she did so much to help the New York State Horse Council and was a member of the the New York State Plantation Walking Horse Club. She helped guide many good ideas for our club and did so much to help the New York State Horse Council' Sara was a kind and selfless person. I am so sorry to learn of your loss. I worked with Sara professionally while she was Assistant to Senator Hoffman and then personally for a long time as a member of the NYS Horse Council. She was also our Treasurer for a number of years. Sara was always kind and personable. She was impeccable when it came to keeping our records and had a wealth of knowledge regarding horses, history and working with the NYS Legislature. She was a valuable resource but more so - a kind dependable person who was always willing to help and the kind of person I am glad to be able to call her a friend. She will be missed.

Thinking of Sara’s family and all she touched. She was an amazing woman - so thoughtful, considerate, bright and dedicated. She was so incredibly involved with and supportive of the horse and I enjoyed working with her immensely. I am thankful for the opportunity to have known her. So sad to hear of her passing.

Our condolences go out to you, Bob, and all of the Dawson family. It was always a pleasure to see Sara at the Morgan Car Club events and other assorted gatherings over the years. She will certainly always be kept in our hearts and her absence will be long felt by all who knew her. I hope it won’t be long before all the wonderful memories you have from your long years together make you smile instead of the pain of grief you have now. I was blessed to have Sara as a mother-in-law, second mother and most importantly, a friend. She welcomed me warmly from the first moment we met and I am so fortunate to have been the recipient of all her love, support and encouragement for the 30+ years we have known each other. She has been a loving and wonderful grandmother to our two boys, offering both emotional and financial support in attending college and helping them pursue their dreams. Most of all, she gave birth to the most amazing man, father and husband a woman could ask for. Mike would not be the man he is today had it not been for her steady, guiding hand and her unwavering love. She will be missed by so many. God bless you Sara. May you Rest In Peace.
